Dynamic response of various von-Kármán non-linear plate models and their 3-D counterparts

Dynamic von-Kármán plate models consist of three coupled non-linear, time-dependent partial differential equations. These equations have been recently solved numerically [Kirby, R., Yosibash, Z., 2004. Solution of von-Kármán dynamic non-linear plate equations using a pseudo-spectral method. Comp. Meth. Appl. Mech. Eng. 193 (6–8) 575–599 and Yosibash, Z., Kirby, R., Gottlieb, D., 2004. Pseudo-sp...

Dynamic contact problem for a von Kármán-Donnell shell

The existence of solutions is proved for the unilateral dynamic contact of a von Kármán-Donnell shell with a rigid obstacle. Both purely elastic material and a material with a singular memory are treated.

Large Amplitude Vibration of Imperfect Shear Deformable Nano-Plates Using Non-local Theory

In this study, based on nonlocal differential constitutive relations of Eringen, the first order shear deformation theory of plates (FSDT) is reformulated for vibration of nano-plates considering the initial geometric imperfection. The dynamic analog of the von Kármán nonlinear strain-displacement relations is used to derive equations of motion for the nano-plate. When dealing with nonlineariti...

Electro-Thermo-Dynamic Buckling of Embedded DWBNNT Conveying Viscous Fluid

In this paper, the nonlinear dynamic buckling of double-walled boron-nitride nanotube (DWBNNT) conveying viscous fluid is investigated based on Eringen's theory. BNNT is modeled as an Euler-Bernoulli beam and is subjected to combine mechanical, electrical and thermal loading. The effect of viscosity on fluid-BNNT interaction is considered based on Navier-Stokes relation. The van der Waals (vdW)...
